Although Joyce Ciarla’s current position with the Mahanoy Area School District is her only experience working in schools, she brought many years of experience in the private sector with her when she was hired to be the district’s food service director. Since that time Joyce has established breakfast programs in all three of the district’s buildings. Her programs enjoy enthusiastic support from administrators, teachers, parents, and most importantly, the students. Joyce continues to seek innovative ways to keep the students interested in participating in her breakfast programs so they can get their school days off to a good start.
