In recognition of the important role parent involvement plays in children's school success, the "Parents Project" contributed to the establishment of Nutrition-Friendly Schools by creating and expanding links between communities and schools, with the focus on parents. To mobilize parents to become part of Pennsylvania's team working toward Nutrition-Friendly Schools, Project PA developed this kit.

The purpose of this video is to make school administrators aware that the nutritional status of Pennsylvania's children is important, that schools have a major influence on the development of lifelong eating behaviors, and that administrative policies can be structured to contribute in a positive manner to the creation of these enduring nutrition patterns.
Students Serving it Safe - Computer Application
Students Serving it Safe is an interactive program on the topic of food safety specifically developed for middle school students. The student user explores different areas of a food service operation, learning basic food safety techniques and strategies along the way. The program contains various short quizzes and provides immediate feedback to students as they navigate through the program. The application also provides a medium for case-based learning by setting the scenario for a relevant and compelling case study.
