Nutrition is an integrative science linking scientific knowledge about cells and molecules to how food and nutrients affect the body and ultimately how they impact populations (Zeizel, et al.).

All programs in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Penn State strive to promote and develop leaders in nutrition who are able to integrate the span of knowledge from molecules to organisms to populations with the goal of improving human health.
