Jacqueline Vernarelli, Post-Doctoral Fellow
Jackie Vernarelli joined the lab in September 2009. She completed her undergraduate studies in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Skidmore College in 2004, and earned her M.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Georgetown University, studying the effects of dietary phytochemicals on oncogene expression. Jackie completed her doctorate in Medical Nutrition Science at Boston University School of Medicine, where her doctoral work examined the impact of genetic risk disclosure on health behaviors, focused specifically on nutritional changes. Jackie's research interests involve nutrition & health behaviors; public health nutrition, including nutrition intervention strategies and health promotion; and nutritional epidemiology, especially the relationship between dietary intake and health status.
